Do you ever want the taste of celery, but hate that it is so difficult to grow well?? Let me introduce you to Lovage. Unlike celery, Lovage is a tough perennial that doesn’t have the same finicky water and fertility requirements. We let it grow 6 ft tall in our orchards where the flowers bring in many beneficial insects. We’ll add the leaves to flavor soup broths and seeds for pickles. The stalks are more fibrous than celery so we usually put them in whole then take them out after the flavor has been added. Rabbit and deer resistant!
