Goldenrod

$10.00
sold out

3 plants per order

A supreme late season bee magnet! When many wildflowers start to fade, Goldenrod takes the spotlight and acts as a haven for all sorts of pollinators. The liveliest bee activity on our farm is around them. Visually they provide a stunningly bright hedge when planted en masse. They’re also a great “chop and drop“ plant to have around trees. Simply scythe them down at any point in the growing season to pile as a thick mulch around fruit/nut trees. As they rot down they work wonders for the fungal life in the soil and to retain moisture in the summer. A rustic tea has traditionally been made from the flowers as a strong decongestant and anti-inflammatory. Also perfect for use as a cut flower bouquet filler. The color really pops and the vase life is fairly long if you cut them early in their flowering period. Birds relish the seeds throughout the winter as well. All in all a classic wildflower!

Zones 3-9

Ships as a bundle of 3 bare root plants
