A fruit of many different names such as Juneberry, serviceberry, shadbush, sugarplum and sakatoon. No matter what the name, the fruit is a small delicious pome that grows on a beautiful, early flowering small tree. The fruit resembles blueberry in appearance, but more closely resembles apple-cherry with almond notes in taste. The blooms appear in early spring which provides a feast for pollinators as well as our eyes. Autumn color is often spectacular with shades of scarlet red and orange. Birds adore this fruit, so it shows great promise as a poultry feeder, as well as a good diversion crop to protect your strawberries and early raspberries! They can tolerate some shade, but for best fruit production full sun is better.

Zones 3-9, possible even down to zone 2

Ships as a dormant bare root plant
